Duo arrested after traffic stop; narcotics, vehicles seized (7)

Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis announced the arrest of a duo that faced charges after a traffic stop promoted a more in-depth investigation. Michael Antonio Carrasquillo, 37, and Arial Celeste Judkins, 21, have been arrested and charged with a slew of drug-related charges.

On Monday, July 1, deputies with the Berkeley County Intelligence Unit were investigating suspicious activity in the area of State Road near Black Tom Road. While doing so, deputies observed a black Dodge Durango in the area. A traffic stop was attempted on the vehicle for a window tint violation. The driver, later identified as Carrasquillo, failed to stop for deputies. During the pursuit, deputies observed what appeared to be methamphetamine being thrown from the passenger side window. Eventually, the vehicle stopped at the corner of State Road and Cooper Store Road. Carrasquillo and the passenger, Judkins, were taken into custody. Deputies observed a 2-year-old and an 8-month-old inside the vehicle.

Deputies then executed a search warrant at the duo’s residence. The search warrant yielded approximately 63.9 grams of fentanyl, approximately 5.6 grams of cocaine, approximately 1.3 grams of cocaine base, approximately 5.3 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 0.1 gram of heroin, approximately 315 grams of marijuana, a PSA AR Pistol 300 blackout, a Glock 27, a Canik 9mm, a Glock 27, approximately $16,255 in cash, and miscellaneous scales and other drug paraphernalia.

Deputies seized a 2013 Dodge Durango, a 2013 Chevrolet Impala, a 2014 Audi, a 2016 Dodge Charger and a 2016 Cadillac.

Carrasquillo was arrested and charged with failure to stop for blue lights and sirens, two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child, trafficking fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of heroin, three counts of a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Judkins was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful conduct toward a child, trafficking fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of heroin and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
