Fentanyl and other drugs seized in Berkeley County (5)

Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis announced the arrest of a duo that faced charges after a traffic stop promoted a more in-depth investigation.

The sheriff’s department announced the arrest of 37-year-old Michael Antonio Carrasquillo and 21-year-year-old Arial Celeste Judkins on a number of drug charges.

According to deputies on July 1, the Berkeley County Intelligence Unit were conducting an investigation into suspicious activity in the area of State Road, near Black Tom Road. While doing so, deputies observed a black dodge Durango in the area.

The agency reports, a traffic stop was attempted on the vehicle for a window tint violation. The driver, later identified as Carrasquillo, failed to stop for deputies. During the pursuit, deputies observed what appeared to be Methamphetamine being thrown from the passenger side window.

Eventually, the vehicle stopped at the corner of State Road and Cooper Store Road. Carrasquillo and the passenger, Judkins, were taken into custody. Deputies observed a two-year-old and an 8-month-old inside of the vehicle, according to a statement from the BCSO.
