Between 2 and 4inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.25 to0.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch arepossible in the warned area. At 8:25 p.m. a confirmed tornado was located 9 miles northwest of Athens, moving east at 25 mph, according to Huntsville-Madison County EMA. Damaging tornado and ping pong ball size hail.

Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This tornado will be near Ardmore around 8:45 p.m.
