Nvidia finally remembered GeForce Experience exists and optimizes 122 new games (2024)

Even though we assume the Nvidia App will eventually replace GeForce Experience (as it has effectively done so for the Nvidia Control Panel), that time hasn’t come yet. Nvidia is updating both services as we go along, with the older GFE app still seeing some love. Most recently, the GeForce Experience 3.28 version has been released, marking the first update to the service since November 2023.

With the update, Nvidia brings game optimization profiles to 122 titles, featuring just about every big title we can think of as of late, and then some. On top of that, there are some bug fixes worth talking about, most of them aimed at providing better capture and recording tools.

GeForce Experience 3.28 is finally here with support for 122 games

You can download the latest update to GeForce Experience over on Nvidia’s website. Version 3.28.0.417 was released on June 13th and demonstrates that Nvidia isn’t ready to give up on the application. On the flip side, we expect more and more people to switch to solely using the Nvidia App – especially with new features such as warranty-safe GPU overclocking and 120 FPS AV1 recording.

Either way, let’s take a look at the added game support as part of this update. Nvidia is adding ‘optimal settings support’ for 122 new games including:

Even a few bugs were fixed

After that long list of games getting optimal settings support in Nvidia GeForce Experience, some bug fixes were also mentioned. If you aren’t too fussed about downloading the Nvidia App (which is available in Beta), then sticking to GFE will keep your games running as smoothly as possible as support is still here. If you’re someone who makes the most of features such as video recording, some of these bug fixes are more than welcome:

  • Fixed an issue where GeForce Experience prompts for a new driver update even after installing the latest version.
  • Fixed an issue where desktop video recording stopped when HDR was enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where video recording was overexposed when HDR was enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where FPS and Latency intermittently showed “NA”.
  • Fixed an issue where the camera indicator was incorrectly reporting that it was enabled.
  • Fixed as an intermittent issue where screenshots were not captured for a windowed mode game.

FAQs

Should I follow GeForce Experience to optimize my games? ›

Using GeForce Experience

Not only does it take away the tiresome chore of checking for driver updates, but it also makes it incredibly easy to optimize your games so they can be played the way they're meant to, taking your computer's hardware into account.

What does optimizing a game on GeForce do? ›

Optimize Your Game Settings

Not to worry. NVIDIA taps into the power of the NVIDIA cloud data center to test thousands of PC hardware configurations and find the best balance of performance and image quality. Then it automatically configures personalized graphics settings based on your PC's GPU, CPU, and display.

Does running games through GeForce Experience improve performance? ›

Despite being a third-party tool, it doesn't add much overhead to your game, so it won't significantly affect performance. The inclusion of support for RTX HDR tech—which lets you add HDR to scenes that don't natively include it and do some frankly remarkable things with color—is particularly impressive.

Should you enable GeForce Experience? ›

No, you do not need to use NVIDIA GeForce Experience to use an NVIDIA graphics card in your computer. NVIDIA GeForce Experience is a software application provided by NVIDIA that offers various features related to gaming and GPU management, such as game optimization settings, driver updates, and in-game recording.
