so i’ve been watching these episodes weekly for like 5 weeks now and i think it’s really cute and i’m thinking abt watching the og because i’d rlly like to know what will happen in future episodes but since the amount of episodes being released isn’t confirmed for the 2024 version i’m not sure if i should wait or just give in.. i’d wanna know other people’s thoughts on this as to what i should do

especially after episode 8 bc them almost kissing was so cute like i knew it wasn’t gonna actually happen in but ranma seeming like he likes her more by the episode even if he acts uninterested is cute and i wanna see more of it yk

you should watch the og, i watch the og first, and i can honestly say I really like both versions. The main difference I noticed about the old one compared to the new one is that the old one is a very slow paced anime, whereas the new one is average pacing

I think you can even watch the og one for free on Tubi TV if you live in America.

so yeah, if you really like the netflix one, go back and watch the og and / or read the manga.

and let me know what you think and if this was helpful.

I like the remake, but you will miss many things if you skip the og.

Oh really, I thought I remembered reading that the remake is truer to the manga? I guess the OG has anime-only scenes that the remake wouldn’t have then

It's a great show, why not? It was my first Anime' comedy & Akane was the 1st tsundere I encountered. I've grown tired of them now, but back then it was fresh for me. The show always had me laughing. I'd say just watch it & have fun.

the remake is more faithful and better paced
not to slander the iconic original anime but it has too many filler episodes and it ends on a cliffhanger

All the music in the og is AMAZING! So very 80s/early 90s. Watch it and have fun!

There is no romantic development at all in the old one. Is 100% a comedy show and everything is for the jokes.

This new one could perfectly change the entire thing, there is already a way bigger focus on a romantic tone.

The remake is truer to the manga but the of has a lot more moments that flesh the characters out a bit. I think OG will give u heart good feelings

You should always check out what came before. It’s just part of being a name fan this late into the game of a series

i feel like the pacing is too slow for me. i don’t have a lot of patience for slow paced shows so i feel like i’ll just wait and hope they adapt manga chapters of the manga as possible for the 2024 version bc even tho i rlly enjoy the show i don’t have enough patience for the OG

@jcoleismyman after the equivalent episodes of the first cour, the pace is better but still there some stories that was not adpted in second part of the manga, ending as well. So even if you are going to watch the 1989 anime, you have to read the manga or eventually wait what this anime is going to adapt

I find the OG to be much more charming and beautiful then this one and, look, I'm enjoying the technical aspects of the new adaptation. Just remember that back there these long animes used to be filled with filler episodes, and Ranma is no exception, so you might want to search for a list of Canon episodes(they can be fun too though, your choice).
