Before his retirement in 1949 he was associated with the Atlantic Steel Co. Mr. Tomlin was a member the Barnett Presbyterian Church and a former member of Woodmen of the World. His wife, who survives, is the former Mary Thomason, a native of Paulding County, Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James L.

Kennedy, Dallas, Tex. and Mrs. R. B. Elsberry of Atlanta; three sons.

Oscar Tomlin, Birmingham, and Floyd and Bill Tomlin of Atlanta, and several grandchildren. Mrs. Harold Askea Mrs. Harold O. Askea, 49, of 2432 Brantley NW, died Sunday morning in an hospital following an illness of a year.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Chattahoochee First Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. James Manley and the Rev. D.

C. Jenkins will officiate. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Park. The former Ruby Parr, Mrs. Askea had lived in this city 30 years.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Miss Geraldine Askea; two sons, L. W. and Harold O. Askea all of Atlanta; her father, J. L.

G. W. Ledford Mrs. George W. Ledford, 44, of 982 Columbia NE, died Sunday in a private hospital after a prolonged illness.

Born in Alabama, she had lived in Atlanta four years. Her husband is the manager of a billiard hall. Mrs. Ledford was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday the First Baptist Church in Shawmut, at a time to be announced.

Funeral and burial services will be held in Macon Tuesday. A 1901 graduate of Mercer University in Macon, Mr. Edenfield later was a professor of mathematics there. He had also been superintendent of several schools systems in the state. Until recently he had instructed in mathematics at Georgia Tech and at the time of his death was teaching in a private school.

He had taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church here for several years. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Watts; two daughters, Miss Margaret Edenfield and Miss Elizabeth Edenfield, both of Macon; one son, Dr. R. W. Edenfield, Macon, and a sister, Mrs.

B. Winfred Merrill, 90, who directed the Merrill School of Music in Atlanta from 1897 to 1900, died here Sunday. Dean emeritus of the Indiana University School of Music, he was credited with founding and directing the first high school orchestra in the United States at East Aurora, in 1880. He was a composer, music textbook writer and former concert violinist. Mr.

Mr. Darden was born in Camilla and had spent most of his life in Atlanta. He was a machinist. At one time he was employed by the Southern Railway. He is survived by his wife, the former Minnie McConnell, a native of Riverdale; a daughter, Mrs.

H. G. Haney, Atlanta; a son, Roy W. Darden, Atlanta, and a sister, Mrs. J.

1, Tucker, died Saturday in a private hospital after a long illness. Born in old Campbell County, Mr. Wallace had lived in the area all his life. He was retired 17 years ago after 33 years' service with the Southern Mr. Wallace was Railroadine of the Clarkston Methodist Church and the Masons.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Trinity Chapel. The Rev. Forrest King will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Carroll; a son, Harold L. Wallace and a daughter, Mrs. B. G. Rawlins, all of Tucker, and several nieces and nephews.

Major H. Collins Major H. Collins of RFD, Fairburn, died Sunday morning at his home. He was a retired employe of the Georgia Power Co. construction dept.

Mr. Collins was a member of the Campleton Lodge No. 73, F. A. M.

Attorney Wengrow, 52, Dies Here Isaac M. Wengrow, 52, Atlanta attorney, died Sunday' morning in a private hospital after a brief illness. He lived at 710 Peachtree NE. Born in Russia, Mr. Wengrow had lived in the United States.

H. Bailey, 58, Dies in Ward At Atlanta Jail 58-year-old man died in the fourth floor detention ward at City Jail Sunday morning, police reported. 740 The Park man. Henry S. Hamp had Bailey been of arrested a few hours earlier on a drunk charge, records showed.

Other prisoners in the jail ward said they saw Bailey slump to the floor. a short time before he died. Bailey had been arrested and taken to Grady Hospital where he was given a shot, which is usually administered to inebriated persons as a sobering antidote, records showed. Police records show Bailey has been arrested eight times on drunk charges since 1949. Atlantan Killed In Plunge from Rail Overpass While apparently eating his lunch on the railroad overpass at Simpson and Edwards streets, 50-year-old Atlantan Sunday plunged through the crossties 13 feet to his death, police reported.
