Lewis Center, Ohio Ronald Lee Hord 1937 — 2024 Ronald Lee Hord, age 86, of Lewis Center, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, February 22, 2024. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in the fall but had been in declining health in recent years. Ron was born to the late Robert Mason Hord and Ruth Elaine (Harvey) Hord on August 20, 1937, in Bucyrus, Ohio. He was married November 1, 1985, to Rebecca Hall (Privett) Hord, who survives. She was also a devoted caregiver in his final years. Ron graduated from Holmes-Liberty High School in 1955 and went on to graduate from Columbus Business College with a business degree in accounting. He was a proud military veteran, having spent eight years with the Ohio Army... Rex was born October 4, 1946, in Marion, Ohio, the son of the late Billy and Betty (Koehler) Craven. In 1964, Rex graduated from Harding High School in Marion. He immediately enlisted in the US Army, serving for 3 years in Thailand and Germany, as well as stateside. Completing his Army service, Rex attended the Ohio State University, majoring in Art Education. After college, he worked for Marion Power Shovel in Marion for several years before relocating to the Washington, DC, area for the remainder of his career. She was born in Essex, OH on December 25, 1937, the daughter of Robert & Ruth (Huffman) Greenwood. She worked in medical billing for several years. She enjoyed Ohio State Football, traveling, making strawberry jam, sewing, playing euchre and shopping. She graduated from Marion Harding High School and worked for several years as a window dresser for the J.C. Penney company of Marion, OH. She was introduced to her handsome future husband James Robert Messenger by one of his five sisters who also worked for J.C. Penney. They were married on September 3, 1952 and welcomed their only child Deborah Sue on December 7, 1954. Philip was born to Willard C. Holtz and Emma Laverna Sally (Delk) Holtz on June 23, 1943, in Marion, Ohio. He graduated from Harding High School in 1962. He married the love of his life, Mary E. Holtz on May 5, 1963. Phil retired from UPS where he had worked for 23 years. Following his retirement, he worked in various positions in Gahanna.
